you said you wanted something other then that crazy chicken, so here ya go.

the other day I went on a fun date. we went ice skating. of course... i fell down. got a few good bruises on my legs to prove it. but guess what? my date fell too! he hurt his shoulder pretty bad. it made me feel not as clumsy as I usually am though because I wasn't the only one who fell! after skating for a while, we went to ihop. pancakes are delicious! especially that late at night. I got strawberry banana pancakes... yum.

then sunday... i came home. i saw you at church! me and imari visited our favorite neighbors and they gave us the most delicious hot chocolate! with spoons covered in chocolate and little marshmallows! so awesome! hot chocolate is the greatest.

yesterday was pretty uneventful. play. work. play. and today should basically be the same! this break is great. i get to come back home on thursday though, and then not leave until next wednesday!

well there you go sher... hope that's better then the chicken! have fun in arizona!

Christmas is nine days from yesterday

the other day at work we were talking about how Christmas is coming up so fast and Kindra said, 'yeah... it's only ten days from yesterday!' ha ha we thought it was pretty hilarious!

So yes... Christmas is coming soon! classes are over, and I survived finals. not that I had very many, and they were all pretty easy. but it's the anxiety that gets me the most! and now it's over... and I get to go home soon! and then... it'll be next semester! I'm pretty excited about next semester. great classes. great people. it's going to be great!

true. when nothing is going right... you can always go left! ha ha it's so simple, I wouldn't have thought of it. but it's true!

why did the chicken cross the road?

not sure... but the chicken I saw today wasn't crossing the road. it was walking, almost skipping, along the side of the road. maybe chasing something or maybe just having fun. I'm not sure.

this week has been pretty great. and really busy. I was able to finish my talk in time for church sunday and that went pretty well. the best part about sunday though was the decorating! me and dana had a Christmas attack and had to get everything put out. our tree is now fully decorated and our apartment is glowing much brighter then the rest. there are even little, Christmas, albino gorillas hanging all over. it's great... and very Christmasy!

next week is my last week of classes and then it's finals week! I can't believe how fast this semester has gone by. it seems like I was just in Mexico hanging out with mi familia in La Fuente. but I've been back in Utah for over three months now. I'm almost finished with my first semester at UVU and I love it!

I just decided that I'm going to write random, funny stories that happen to me throughout the week... I was laughing pretty hard at work today. me and shelene were telling each other funny stories. it all started today when I was walking to my car after class. I tripped up the last step only to look up and see the most beautiful boy. he had pitch black hair and the bluest eyes I've ever seen. I guess I was gawking because he smiled and kind of laughed as he walked away. or maybe he was laughing because I about fell to the ground because of those darn stairs. shelene said that happens to her all the time too. I'm glad I'm not the only one!

I'm thankful for...

Thanksgiving is such a great holiday. It really makes me take a step back and look at everything I'm thankful for.
So we started out the day with a fantastic lunch at Grandma Wortley's house. She always has the best roles ever! and we played a gripping game of bingo with some pretty great prizes!!
I got to hold Holland! She's so cute! and I haven't seen her in forever so she's grown so much! and seriously... she has the prettiest eyes! so cute!

Then after relaxing for about an hour... we went to Grams house for more food! Thanksgiving=no hunger
We sat about 45 or so people on some long tables in Grams big room. it's always fun to have everyone eat at the same table and have food being sent all the way around. good times and delicious food.
I had some fun with my camera taking close ups of everyone (especially my adorable new cousins), and trying to catch Grams with her tongue out!

After dinner and clean up a few of the munchkins were still super hyper. so... we came up with a few races to tire them out! first off somer-saults... 

next... hopping, like frogs

we also did three legged races, wheelbarrow, sideways jumping, running backwards and many more... they don't tire easily. Henry decided he wanted to race on a horse, so Austin volunteered to be the horse. Check out his incredible form hopping on!

and that was my Thanksgiving. I'm so thankful for my family, and all the craziness that comes with them!

youtube party!

I work at the coolest place ever. Seriously. Tonight after work we got pizza and had a youtube party just because! it was hilarious... and I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. So... a youtube party is where everyone comes with a video in mind and you're supposed to dress up like someone in the video you choose. very funny. well this was my favorite video of the night. i came home and made my roommates watch it. and then i watched it again. I just started laughing again just thinking about it! so enjoy, and if you must... watch it again!

Today was the monthly birthday party at grams so we celebrated the November birthdays; Henry, Mary, Jeremy and Pauline...
Pauline wasn't there, but of course we sang to her anyways!!

Henry blew out the candles before we finished the song... I think he was hoping we'd stop singing once they were out. Nope! 

this was Kyle's idea of a funny face ha ha I guess it is pretty funny!

what a cutie! Henry turned 4 today and he got a cowboy belt with a big buckle and his name sewn on the back! classy!

well...besides tonight, nothing too exciting has been happening. I've been doing loads of homework and been pretty busy with work too. Why is it that whenever I'm in a hurry I hit every single red light there is?? Or when I decide to take a detour thinking it'll be faster than waiting in a long line of cars, the road I choose is blocked off and I end up taking a longer detour through residential school zones behind someone driving way below the speed limit?? Just a few experiences I had this week!

my favorite day

October 13th is my favorite day of the year. October is my favorite month because of Halloween... and also because it's breast cancer awareness month, so you can buy pretty much anything in pink! and thirteen is my favorite number... just because. so i thought today was going to be a great day!

well...that's what i thought. but then i woke up. late. i ran around like a crazy person trying to get ready, and i made it! i got to school, got a great parking spot and wandered down to class. then, my next class was canceled so i had to come up with something to keep me busy. i walked to wal mart, got a few things, then walked back to my car. it was starting to warm up and was turning out to be a pretty great, sunny day. then i grabbed my back pack and locked the door.

danget. i locked my keys in the car.

so i called my mom and her and henry came to my rescue. i still had time to kill before class so we hung out in the parking lot blowing bubbles and watching henry with all his energy running back and forth, then hoping, then running backwards. crazy kid! it was pretty funny to watch people going to their cars as they saw the bubbles, then looked around like 'where did that come from?' ha ha one kid even stopped to pop a few before walking on.

well after that trauma... actually it really wasn't a big deal; my mom got a good laugh out of it and henry got to go to the tree slide in the mall. so everyone's happy and i now have a spare key in my room... just in case it happens again!

conference weekend!

last weekend was the 181st General Conference... and it was great! as always, I love hearing from the Prophet and Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I loved the messages I heard and learned a lot! After work saturday, I went home to watch conference and hang out with my family! the girls went to a movie while the boys went to Priesthood. then we all met at... Costa Vida for dinner! yum! and of course... Orange Leaf for dessert. I love frozen yogurt! Sunday, Trevor and Cortney came over for the morning session and then after... we had some fun watching Cortney buzz off all Trevor's hair! Me, Jayne and Emma also had fun jumping on the tramp with Boomer! it's pretty hilarious to watch him stiffen up and jump around! and finally... in the spirit of October and the fall, I made a most delicious pumpkin chocolate chip cake with cream cheese frosting... mmm, so good!

Dirty Dash!!

This saturday was our one month mark of being back in the USA! So in celebration, a few of us teachers from Mexico got together at my cabin in Midway for the Dirty Dash! The dirty dash is a 10k run through mud... and all sorts of obstacles including a swamp, mud pools, a swing, tunnels, haystacks, and a slide! we had a ton of fun and got down and dirty as we dashed through all that mud!

oh yeah... we're pumped to get muddy! Viva el bigote!!

I'm about to go down the awesome waterslide at the end of the course! awesome!

gross story... so I wanted all of us to get down on the ground under the true like me, but no one else wanted to. well after the picture we all stood up and I looked where I had been laying... there was flattened horse poop. ew.

and to add to our mexican reunion... we rode in the back of my truck to the lake to get un-muddy

wow! it felt great to take a nice warm shower after that freezing mud... except poor hannah! and then we all put on our sweet evolution of running shirts! sweet!
