Yesterday was the day of the Mother in Mexico so I got mi madre some flowers and she loved them! Then she gave me a Mother's Day chocolate apple for my mom in Utah! but she said, 'since she can't eat it, you can!' ha ha so mom... your apple was delicious!

Today was hot and sunny! Until... I was walking home from school it started raining! a lot! by the time I got home I looked like I had taken a shower in my clothes! ha ha and when I walked in the door mi familia all said, 'ay Paige!' ha ha ha

Tour of Tehuacan!

I got to school early yesterday and no one was there... so I walked around Tehuacan and took some pictures!!

Tehuacan is very clean! there are these big garbage cans all over the place so people don't litter... and they're nice because they have a bar that you step on to open it... you don't even have to touch it!

Vacation to Oaxaca!

Our first vacation began on Thursday morning at 5 am... very early! we got on a bus with our own private bus driver named Raphael (like the ninja turtle) we drove for a few hours to get to some really neat ruins in Oaxaca. There we ate breakfast and looked out over the city!

This was my breakfast... it looks just like a normal omelette...

but it has grasshoppers in it! they are a delicacy in Oaxaca (and yes... i really did eat it!)

I thought this was the funniest thing ever! instead of a snowman... it is a cactus man!

These bugs made the craziest sounds! i took a video of them too... so I'll post that later!

Next we got back on the bus for an extremely long bus ride through the windiest rode in the jungle! but here's the crazy part... we got stuck for an extra three hours because there was a car wreck and the road was too narrow for cars to pass... we were stranded in the Mexican jungle for hours in the dark! ay chihuahua! ha ha but we made it out and finally got to Huatulco at around 2:00 am! we didn't know where we were going to sleep that night... but we met a nice man on a mo-ped who brought us to a super nice apartment building where we were able to rent a room for only 125 pesos a night! that's only $12.50 a night! and it was super nice with two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, kitchen and even a big pool! excelente!

i got this delicious muffin at a supermarket... it tasted just like a black and white cookie from new york!

well we spent the next few days on some beautiful beaches with soft sand and big waves! we snorkeled, saw the movie Rio (in Spanish of course!), watched a Cinco de Mayo parade, ate some not so Mexican food (cereal and nutella sandwiches), and even got in some shopping! overall it was an excellent trip... even though i got a little sunburnt :(

el domingo primero!

today was my first sunday en mexico! and it was great! church started at 8:00 which kind of stunk cause i had to wake up early... but it was worth it! i loved listening to spanish for three hours even though i couldn't understand anything! after i got home today Aimee's mama y tios were doing a cooking lesson with Aimee because she is an amazing cook! I love Aimee's family... they are so funny and they love to smile at me because they know i don't understand what they're saying ha ha we also went to some sort of open market where you can buy pretty much anything... even a really old, red, broken hair dryer ha ha but it was fun and Aimee bought me an ice cream that came in a plastic bag! and i just bit off the end and sucked it out! ha ha i got chocolate and it tasted just like frozen hot chocolate! yum!

yesterday after school me, Maria, and her friend Alexia went to el parque... we got ice cream and took lots of pictures! ha ha Maria really loves my blond hair and she's so cute because she introduces me to everyone as her hermana! her favorite color is pink... just like me! and she REALLY loves my pink luggage and pink sparkly TOMS!

and shout out to Sadie and her esposa Ryan! Happy Marriage yesterday!! have fun in Jamaica!
