the creative life

being an art major means that I pretty much have to be creative all the time. and I am, usually. this week and last week I've had so many art projects due that I've had to totally come up with an idea and then work with it... and I've been struggling! in my classes we always do class critics where we hang our art up on the wall and our class judges it. ha ha sounds kinda scary, and sometimes it is. but usually very helpful too. well... for these projects I got so caught up in asking everyones opinions on all my art that I got distracted from the ones that I like the most! lame... then I found this quote...

and found that it's very true! I decided to quit stressing... then guess what? I came up with a brilliant design that I love! yeah!

this is incredible! we talked about family history in my institute class the other day and someone was talking about a cool fan chart. so i found it! nine generations of history!! incredible!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Well... Christmas was almost a month ago... but better late then never!

 Every year on Christmas Eve my mom's side of the family gets together for a big party! We eat honey baked ham, open presents, have a wrapping paper fight and then a pajama parade! It's a blast and... my family is pretty hilarious!

Then on Christmas morning we wake up, open our presents and go to Grandma Wortley's house for breakfast! We have waffles, eggs, orange juice and grapefruit. Then we open more presents and hang out with the family! 

 I bet you can't guess who found my camera...

Jayne's trying to decide if she'd rather go to the U... or to Hogwarts!

 For New Year's my mom found some paper lanterns (like the ones from Tangled) and we went up on the boulevard and let them go! Our first attempts weren't too good and we just about caught our neighbors house on fire... but we got better and they were so cool to watch float away! This one we watched until it burned out and then we drove around and found it!

the other day I went on a fun date. we went ice skating. of course... i fell down. got a few good bruises on my legs to prove it. but guess what? my date fell too! he hurt his shoulder pretty bad. it made me feel not as clumsy as I usually am though because I wasn't the only one who fell! after skating for a while, we went to ihop. pancakes are delicious! especially that late at night. I got strawberry banana pancakes... yum.

then sunday... i came home. i saw you at church! me and imari visited our favorite neighbors and they gave us the most delicious hot chocolate! with spoons covered in chocolate and little marshmallows! so awesome! hot chocolate is the greatest.

yesterday was pretty uneventful. play. work. play. and today should basically be the same! this break is great. i get to come back home on thursday though, and then not leave until next wednesday!

well there you go sher... hope that's better then the chicken! have fun in arizona!

Christmas is nine days from yesterday

the other day at work we were talking about how Christmas is coming up so fast and Kindra said, 'yeah... it's only ten days from yesterday!' ha ha we thought it was pretty hilarious!

So yes... Christmas is coming soon! classes are over, and I survived finals. not that I had very many, and they were all pretty easy. but it's the anxiety that gets me the most! and now it's over... and I get to go home soon! and then... it'll be next semester! I'm pretty excited about next semester. great classes. great people. it's going to be great!
