Rascal Flatts are the greatest!

Rascal Flatts are AMAZING!! I was super impressed with how well they sing live...the lead singer has an incredible voice and their band was great too! So for my mom's birthday, my dad gave her four tickets to see Rascal Flatts. and of course. I've been wanting to see them forever! so I got one! Cortney and Emma were lucky enough to be chosen as the other two and the four of us had a blast dancing and singing along with all the drunk fans surrounding us ha ha good times!
Some drunken fan took this picture for us... he was a bit crazy. kept saying he was taking pictures for vogue and was having a little too much fun with my camera... he said it was a great picture. but not really cause the point of standing right there was to get the whole bus in...not just part of the word 'Flatts' ha ha but oh well! I guess it makes for a good memory!

getting lost and finding my way

hmm... I need a new name for my blog, since I'm clearly not living in Mexico anymore. but what?? so here is my journey to (as Leah would say) the Land of Provo. since I'm living in a completely different land then her now. from the packing up all my stuff, to the moving, hauling up my many stairs, to unpacking and now living in my new apartment and this new town! the first couple days I was pretty sad. I missed my family and I had hardly seen them since coming home from Mexico and then I left again. but then I got into my classes and started meeting new people and getting into a routine. and now I'm loving life! I still miss my family, but Bountiful is really not that far away, and I'm having a great time in this new place and my new adventure!
I know, I know... I have a lot of stuff. But I have been using everything I've brought... so that's good right?? Poor Cortney and Emma chose to sit in the back of Jayne's little jeep and watch over my crap while I got to sit shot gun with plenty of room to move around! I did offer to switch seats with either of them and they both shot me down... so at least I tried!
and this is my room! or should I say loft?? this is the place where I spend a lot of my time. studying, reading, sleeping... and walking up and down my stairs!
yes... I have my own stair case! I seriously have the coolest room ever! and I'm going to have great legs from all the walking up and down the three flights of stairs to my bedroom multiple times a dday! so it's a double bonus... awesome room and awesome legs!
Living in Provo has been great so far! I was as Emily put it 'initiated' into Provo life Friday night when I ate at Slab Pizza, went to a rooftop concert (which was awesome!!), and then got frozen yogurt! it was a great night and I discovered that I have a few new favorite bands! Imagine Dragons, The Vibrant Sounds and The Neighbors! they're all great and sound even better live than they do recorded! So my night was great! which is good because my day wasn't too great... it started out great meeting mom up in Midway for Swiss Days which is always fun... but then I left later than I should have to go back through Provo Canyon and get back to my class. which I actually would've made it to... if I hadn't gotten lost. and boy did I get lost. I had no idea where I was and I didn't recognize anything. which doesn't usually happen. I'm usually pretty good with directions and finding things. so it stressed me out pretty good.. which made things worse. well I ended up finding the freeway, and then driving the wrong direction. long story short... I missed my only class of the day because I got lost. Lame. but thanks to my good friend Kelly who gave me a driving tour of the Provo Orem area today... hopefully I won't be getting to lost anymore!

estoy en casa

Hooray! I made it home. after an extremely long day of traveling and taking pretty much every form of transportation I made it home. home to the airport in Salt Lake where I was met by my whole family, Grams included, wearing band-aid mustaches and holding up hot pink signs yelling 'Paige!' it was a great day and I'm happy to be home!

but of course I miss mi familia! I'm mean just look at us... they're great!

es difícil decir adiós ... pero creo que es hora de ir

it's hard to say goodbye.
I live here. Tehuacan is my home. I love Utah and I'm definitely excited to come home and see my family again. but Mexico will always be a part of me and I will miss it. the people are definitely more significant than the place though. and I've met some amazing people. mi familia is the best and I have been so blessed to have been a part of their family in my time here.
but I think it's time for me to go...
yesterday the battery in my toothbrush died. I ran out of conditioner last week. and used the last of my lotion two days ago. the other night I ripped a hole in my pants going down a slide. yesterday morning the hot water ran out while I was taking a shower so I had to rinse out my shampoo in frigid water. then my blow dryer broke. yeah. I think it's time for me to go home ha ha

las cucarachas

las cucarachas. a part of my mexican experience. mi madre said it's not Tehuacan de las granadas... our town is called Tehucan de las cucarachas. because they are everywhere. and it is inevitable that you will see one somewhere. maybe even in your suitcase as you're starting to pack. trust me. it's not a fun experience.
here is some useless. but still very interesting. information i recently learned about cockroaches. 'cockroaches have quite a capacity for survival. If the head of one is removed carefully, so as to prevent it from bleeding to death, the cockroach can survive for several weeks. When it dies, it is from starvation.'

now i haven't sat down and carefully removed the head of a cockroach. but i have experienced their strange capacity for survival. the other day i picked up one of my shoes to put on. guess what fell out? yup. a cucaracha. i refrained from yelping, because i've actually become quite good at killing them. but this one was different. i hit it with my flip flop. then again. again. again. finally it looked like it was dead. i didn't want to touch it or pick it up, so i just left it there. in the middle of my floor. the next day i woke up and it was still there. on it's back. i thought it was dead. WRONG! i tried to pick it up with a piece of paper and it flipped over and scurried away. fast! but no worries. it freaked me out enough that i just kept wacking it with my flip flop until i was absolutely positive that it was dead. those crazy, long living cucarachas.
